UIRS accessibility assessment
Description of the facility
The museum is inaccessible for wheelchair users and partially accessible for other visitors. It is located in Velenje Castle.
Access from the base of the hill to the castle parking lot is possible on foot via several staircases or by car via a steep road. The only route from the parking lot to the castle entrance is a steep gravel path with drainage channels. Access to the exhibition spaces is from the castle’s outer atrium. Access to the ground floor and first-floor exhibition spaces is hindered by stairs and high thresholds at the entrances and inside the rooms. There is no elevator and no adapted sanitary facilities. The exhibition provides a guide for blind visitors (Braille) and for visually impaired visitors (large print), and some exhibits allow tactile exploration.
