Description of the facility
The museum is inaccessible to wheelchair users and is partly accessible to other users. The museum is housed in Velenje Castle.
From the foot of the hill, the castle car park can be reached on foot via several staircases or by car on a steep road. The only access from the car park to the castle entrance is via a footpath, a steep gravel ramp with drainage channels.
The exhibition spaces can be accessed from the outer castle atrium. Access to the exhibition spaces on the ground floor and on the first floor is impeded by stairs and high steps at entrances and inside the rooms. There is no lift in the castle or accessible sanitary facilities.
The exhibition offers an adapted guide of the exhibits for the blind (braille) and people with visual impairments (large print) and also offers some adapted tactile exhibition items.

- The building does not have a lift,
- The building does not have accessible sanitary facilities,
- The exhibited items in the exhibition spaces are not placed at suitable heights.
People with visual impairments:
- The reception desk is not located in the immediate vicinity of the entrance,
- The path to the remote reception desk is not marked with tactile floor markings,
- There are abrupt transitions from light to dark spaces in the building,
- The edges of stairs do not have contrasting visual markings,
- The edges of the changes of level do not have contrasting visual markings,
- Obstructions and solitary obstacles are not suitably marked.
