Description of the facility

The Kolpern building has two halls and is partially accessible. The halls have separate entrances.
The entrance to the larger hall does not have changes of level; the hall has moveable equipment and adapted sanitary facilities.
Access to the smaller hall on the first floor runs from the outside and is accessible via adequate ramps and a lifting platform. The hall has moveable equipment and does not have an adapted toilet room.
The halls are not equipped with an induction loop.
There is an accessible parking spot in the car park along the road behind the building.

Adaptations:

People with mobility impairments:

  • There is an accessible parking spot near the entrance,
  • The main entrance to the building (to the large hall) is accessible,
  • The ramp and the external lifting platform to the small hall are properly constructed and enable independent use,
  • There is sufficient room to manoeuvre inside the halls,
  • The hall has moveable seating,
  • The building has accessible sanitary facilities only on the ground floor next to the large hall.

People with visual impairments:

  • There are no abrupt transitions from light to dark spaces in the building.

People with hearing impairments:

  • The spaces have adequate sound insulation.

Deficiencies:

People with mobility impairments:

  • The accessible parking spot is not spacious enough, but it is designated,
  • The lifting platform enabling access to the small hall is located outside with no canopy and has already been out of order (challenging weather conditions),
  • There is no ramp provided for access to the stage,
  • The building does not have a lift, so visitors to the small hall cannot use the accessible toilet room.

People with visual impairments:

  • Orientation is impeded due to the separate entrances and the terrain,
  • The signage marking access to the entrances is not suitable.

 People with hearing impairments:

  • The halls are not equipped with an induction loop.
