Description of the facility

The Tourist Information Center Laško is poorly accessible. The main entrance is reached via exterior stairs, while the side entrance at the back of the building is accessible via a ramp. The walking surfaces leading to both entrances are paved with unevenly maintained granite cobblestones, posing a tripping hazard. Inside the TIC, there is also a shop and a multipurpose room for receptions or workshops. The sanitary facilities are located in the basement and are not accessible due to stairs.
Guest rooms on the first floor are only accessible by stairs.

Adaptations:

Mobility impaired:

  • There is an adapted parking space nearby as part of the city parking area,
  • The main entrance has a sign indicating the accessible side entrance for persons with reduced mobility,
  • The side entrance is adapted for wheelchair users,
  • The ramp is properly constructed and allows independent use,
  • There is sufficient maneuvering space inside the building.

Blind and visually impaired:

  • No sudden transitions from light to dark spaces inside the building,
  • Exhibits (e.g., a city model) allow tactile exploration.

Deaf and hard of hearing:

  • The reception desk is well-lit, allowing lip reading and facial expression recognition.

Deficiencies:

Mobility impaired:

  • The ramp is not properly protected,
  • The reception desk is only partially adapted for wheelchair users,
  • Level differences to the first floor (guest rooms) are not properly bridged,
  • The TIC has no elevator,
  • No adapted sanitary facilities are available in the TIC,
  • No guest rooms are available for persons with reduced mobility.

Blind and visually impaired:

  • Stair edges are not contrast-marked.

Deaf and hard of hearing:

  • The information desk is not equipped with a hearing loop,
  • The information desk is positioned with windows behind it, which impairs visibility and communication.
