Description of the facility

Birth house of France Prešeren is poorly accessible. There is an accessible parking spot at the nearest car park. The incline leading to the entrance is not paved suitably and is too steep for independent use by wheelchair users. The interior of the building has high thresholds and low door frames. The toilet facilities are located in a neighbouring building, but have not been adapted to wheelchair users.

  • There are no adaptations.

  • There are no adaptations.

People with mobility impairments:

  • The angle of the ramp leading to the entrance is too steep and is paved with cobblestones,
  • The step on the main entrance is too steep,
  • The changes of level inside the building have not been adequately addressed,
  • There is not sufficient room to manoeuvre indoors,
  • The building does not have accessible toilet rooms.

People with visual impairments:

  • There are abrupt transitions from light to dark spaces in the building,
  • The building features some solitary obstacles with low door frames that do not have contrasting markings,
  • The edges of the changes of level do not have contrasting markings,
  • None of the exhibited items enable tactile exploration of the exhibited material.

People with hearing impairments:

  • Not equipped with an induction loop,
  • The reception desk is not adequately lit and does not enable lip-reading and interpreting facial expressions.
