UIRS accessibility assessment
Description of the facility
The museum is located in Brežice Castle and is partially accessible. A gravel path leads to the castle entrance. There is a low threshold at the entrance due to a change in level. A passage leads past the ticket office to the castle atrium, which doubles as an outdoor event space with a large canopy. The equipment is moveable and the floor is gravel. The stage is not accessible for wheelchair users.
There are non-accessible sanitary facilities in the immediate vicinity of the ticket office.
The paving on the edge of the atrium is level and firm, enabling access to the stairs and lift leading to the upper floors of the museum.
Low steps occasionally appear between exhibition spaces in the museum, while higher steps are addressed with temporary ramps. There is a ramp on the passage to the Wedding Room and the Knight’s hall.
For wheelchair users, the circular route on the first floor is interrupted by stairs (in the Knight’s Hall). All the rooms are accessible, but only from one side and the other. The equipment in the halls is moveable.
The hall is not equipped with an induction loop.
