Description of the facility

The cultural center is poorly accessible. The main entrance has double doors, and wheelchair users require assistance to enter. The ticket counter is located in the foyer near the entrance and has reflective glazing, which hinders communication for sensory-impaired users. The counter is not height-adjusted for wheelchair users.
Access to the main hall involves a very steep ramp, preventing independent use for wheelchair users. The small hall, restrooms, and dressing rooms are in the basement and only accessible via stairs. Sanitary facilities are not accessible for wheelchair users and are poorly lit for others. The main hall is equipped with a hearing loop.

Adaptations:

Mobility impaired:

  • in the first row of the main hall, movable chairs can be removed to provide space for wheelchair users.

Blind and visually impaired:

  • ticket counter is located near the entrance.

Deaf and hard of hearing:

  • main hall is equipped with a hearing loop,
  • spaces are properly sound-insulated.

Shortcomings:

Mobility impaired:

  • accessible parking is not near the entrance,
  • public accessible parking space is not of adequate dimensions,
  • ramp to main hall is too steep and not secured,
  • ticket counter is not height-adjusted for wheelchair users,
  • no elevator in the building (no access to small hall, dressing rooms, or basement restrooms),
  • no adapted sanitary facilities.

Blind and visually impaired:

  • entrance is not clearly identifiable,
  • no signage at the main entrance,
  • ticket window is not contrast-marked,
  • there are sudden transitions from light to dark areas,
  • edges of stairs and level differences are not contrast-marked,
  • lighting in sanitary facilities is inadequate.

Deaf and hard of hearing:

  • small hall and ticket counter are not equipped with a hearing loop,
  • ticket counter is not well-lit and does not allow lip reading or reading facial expressions,
  • ticket counter glazing is reflective and glossy.
