Description of the facility

The culture centre is poorly accessible. There are double doors at the main entrance, so wheelchair users require assistance to enter. The ticket counter is located in the lobby at the entrance to the building. Its glazing causes a glare, impeding communication for people with sensory impairments. The height of the ticket counter is not adapted to wheelchair users.
The entrance to the great hall features a very steep ramp preventing independent use to wheelchair users. The small hall, sanitary facilities and changing areas for the performers are in the basement and are only accessible via stairs. The sanitary facilities are not accessible for wheelchair users and are inadequately lit for other users.
The great hall is equipped with an induction loop.

  • The ticket office is located in the immediate vicinity of the entrance.

  • The great hall is equipped with an induction loop, 
  • The spaces have adequate sound insulation.

  • The accessible parking spot is not located near the entrance,
  • The accessible public parking spot is not spacious enough, but it is designated, 
  • The slope of the ramp at the entrance to the great hall is not suitable and is not secured, 
  • The height of the ticket office is not adapted to wheelchair users, 
  • The building does not have a lift (no access to the small hall, wardrobe and sanitary facilities in the basement),
  • The great hall does not have designated areas for wheelchair users (the seating is moveable),
  • The building does not have accessible sanitary facilities.

People with visual impairments: 

  • The entrance to the building is not easily recognizable, 
  • There is no signboard near the main entrance, 
  • The window of the reception desk does not have contrasting visual markings, 
  • There are abrupt transitions from light to dark spaces in the building, 
  • The edges of stairs and changes of level do not have contrasting visual markings,
  • The sanitary facilities are not adequately lit.

People with hearing impairments: 

  • The small hall and ticket office are not equipped with an induction loop, 
  • The ticket office is not adequately lit and does not enable lip-reading and interpreting facial expressions, 
  • The reception desk glazing is reflective and glaring.
