Description of the facility

The library is poorly accessible despite being located on the ground floor.
At the main entrance, there are two steps without proper bridging.
The library entrance is located on the left side of the hallway (past the stairs).
The entrance door width is insufficient (670 mm), preventing wheelchair access.
The library space is small and does not provide adequate maneuvering room for wheelchair users.

Adaptations

Mobility impaired:

  • Reception desk is height-adjusted for wheelchair users,
  • Space for parking is available in front of the entrance, but the spot is not marked.

Blind and visually impaired:

  • Entrance to the building is clearly recognizable,
  • Information board at the main entrance is adequate,
  • Signs and labels inside the library are at appropriate heights, contrastive, and readable.

Deaf and hard of hearing:

  • Reception desk is well-lit and allows lip reading and reading facial expressions.

Deficiencies

Mobility impaired:

  • Entrance is not accessible (due to two steps at the entrance),
  • Height difference at entrance is not properly bridged,
  • Insufficient maneuvering space inside,
  • No adapted sanitary facilities (restroom only available in museum area),
  • Bookshelf layout does not allow wheelchair access.

Blind and visually impaired:

  • Reception desk is not in immediate proximity to the entrance,
  • Path to the distant reception desk is not tactually marked.

Deaf and hard of hearing:

  • Reception desk is not equipped with a hearing loop (not required).
