Description of the facility

The library is inaccessible for people with mobility impairments and partially accessible for people with other impairments. The nearest accessible parking spot is located in front of the municipal building. There are indentations on the access path impeding movement. The library is located on the upper floor of the building and is only accessible via stairs. The building does not have a lift.
There is no intercom at the entrance to contact staff, but there is an outdoor book return box and a telephone number provided.
The sanitary facilities are located at the top of the stairs along the corridor to the left, while the library entrance is along the corridor to the right. The library spaces are smaller and include a library counter, library spaces with bookshelves and an event room. The rooms have thresholds and steps.

People with mobility impairments:

  • There is an outdoor book return box at the entrance,
  • There are no other adaptations for people with mobility impairments.

People with visual impairments:

  • The edges of stairs at the entrance have contrasting visual markings.

People with hearing impairments:

  • There are no adaptations for people with hearing impairments.

  • The building main entrance is not accessible (due to stairs), 
  • There is no intercom at the entrance (but there is a telephone number listed),
  • The changes of level in the interior of the building are not adequately addressed (no lift),
  • There is not sufficient room to manoeuvre indoors,
  • The building does not have a lift,
  • The building does not have accessible sanitary facilities.

People with visual impairments:

  • The reception desk is not located in the immediate vicinity of the entrance,
  • The edges of stairs in the library do not have contrasting visual markings,
  • The edges of the changes of level (thresholds) do not have contrasting visual markings,

People with hearing impairments:

  • The event room and library counter are not equipped with an induction loop (not a mandatory condition).
