Description of the facility

The culture centre is very poorly accessible. The main entrance has stairs, so access for wheelchair users is arranged from the side entrance at the back of the building. The side entrance is accessed via an outside ramp and only provides access to the hall. There are no accessible areas for wheelchair users in the hall, so they are currently placed in front of the first row of seats. The other areas (bar, cash register, sanitary facilities) are only accessible via stairs that do not have contrasting visual markings and are also not sufficiently protected in some areas. 

Adaptations:

People with mobility impairments:

  • There is an accessible parking spot near the side entrance behind the building,
  • Access to the building is provided via a side entrance,
  • There is a ramp at the side entrance (the access to the ramp and its width do not have suitable dimensions),

People with visual impairments:

  • The entrance to the building is easily recognizable.

People with hearing impairments:

  • The reception desk is adequately lit and enables lip-reading and interpreting facial expressions,
  • The hall has adequate sound insulation.

Deficiencies:

People with mobility impairments:

  • The accessible side entrance is not designated,
  • The main entrance has stairs, so access for wheelchairs is possible via a ramp at the back of the building,
  • The stairs inside the building are not adequately addressed,
  • The building does not have a lift,
  • The hall does not have designated spaces for wheelchair users, so they are placed in front of the front row of seats.
  • The building does not have accessible sanitary facilities, i.e., there is no access to the basement.

People with visual impairments:

  • There are abrupt transitions from light to dark spaces in the building,
  • The glazed glass doors do not have contrasting visual markings,
  • The edges of stairs and changes of level do not have contrasting visual markings,
  • The stairs to the basement are not secured with a railing,
  • The daylight lighting causes glaring.

People with hearing impairments:

  • The hall and the ticket office are not equipped with an induction loop.
