A LIFE UNLIKE ANY OTHER
Travelling Photography Exhibition
The exhibition Nothing Different Life was prepared by the renowned photographer Primož Lavre in cooperation with the National Council of Disabled People’s Organisations of Slovenia, the umbrella body of the European project “A nationwide awareness-raising campaign on the social inclusion of people with disabilities”.
The exhibition was born out of his 2016 exhibition Nothing Different Mum, in which he photographed mothers of children with special needs. With this new exhibition, he aims to continue to bring to the public the diverse stories of people with disabilities who are breaking taboos and thriving on their strengths.
He invited 25 people to be in front of the lens. They include people with disabilities of all types and forms, and all of them are successful in their work, sports and hobbies. The photography took place in environments close to where people with disabilities work and live. The photographs form a cohesive whole, each with a unique story behind it. “With this exhibition, I want to send a message that we should take as an example those who are deprived of many things, but still live a full life,” says Primož Lavre.
