The exhibition No Different Life was prepared by the renowned photographer Primož Lavre in collaboration with the National Council of Disabled Organizations of Slovenia, the main coordinator of the European project “Nationwide Awareness Campaign on the Social Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities.”The exhibition evolved from his 2016 exhibition No Different Mothers, which featured photographs of mothers of children with special needs. With this new exhibition, he aims to continue presenting the diverse stories of persons with disabilities, breaking taboos and showcasing their ability to successfully leverage their strengths. He invited 25 individuals to step in front of the camera. Among them are people with various types and forms of disabilities, all of whom excel in their work, sports, or hobbies. The photography sessions took place in environments familiar to the subjects, where they live and work. Together, the photographs form a cohesive whole, with each image hiding a unique story: “With this exhibition, I want to convey that we should look up to those who are deprived of many things but still live a fulfilling life,” says Primož Lavre.
