Description of the facility

The facility is partially accessible.

The building is located about 200 meters from the nearest bus stop, and the route to the Tourist Information Centre (TIC) is accessible via the sidewalk.

The TIC is situated on the ground floor of a larger building. Near the entrance, there is an adapted parking space, which is slightly too short.

The entrance is recognizable, but access is often severely hindered by cars parked on unmarked areas in front of the entrance. The entrance door has a threshold that is too high for manual wheelchair users and less powerful electric wheelchairs.

Inside, to the right, there is a reception and sales counter, and straight ahead are display shelves. The counter is height-adjusted for wheelchair users but is not equipped with a hearing loop. Some shelves are too high and therefore inaccessible for wheelchair users.

The TIC does not have restrooms available for visitors.

Adaptations

For persons with mobility impairments:

  • there is a partially adapted parking space near the entrance,
  • the main entrance to the building is partially accessible (due to a high threshold),
  • the reception desk is height-adjusted for wheelchair users,
  • there is sufficient maneuvering space inside for wheelchair users.

For the blind and visually impaired:

  • the entrance to the building is clearly recognizable,
  • the reception desk is located near the entrance,
  • there are no sudden transitions from bright to dark areas inside the building,
  • some signs and labels in the building are placed at appropriate heights,
  • there are no obstacles or hazardous objects inside the building.

For the deaf and hard of hearing:

  • the reception desk is well-lit, allowing for lip reading and reading facial expressions,
  • the reception desk is positioned so that there are no windows behind it.

Deficiencies

For persons with mobility impairments:

  • the adapted parking space does not meet the required dimensions, although it is marked,
  • the height difference at the entrance is not properly bridged,
  • the layout of some display shelves does not allow access by wheelchair users.

For the blind and visually impaired:

  • the contrast of price tags in the building is insufficient,
  • the information board at the main entrance is inadequate (placed behind glass and reflective),
  • product prices are not contrasting or legible,
  • the edges of height differences (door threshold) are not marked in contrast.

For the deaf and hard of hearing:

  • the reception desk is not equipped with a hearing loop for hard-of-hearing persons.
