UIRS accessibility assessment
Description of the facility
The Novi Val store premises are well accessible.
The nearest bus stop is about a 10-minute walk away. Only part of the route has a sidewalk; the rest must be continued along the (less busy) street in the settlement, so extra caution is recommended. The sidewalk is, in some places, quite steep where it is recessed to street level, or it is not sufficiently recessed. The path is not equipped with tactile floor markings.
The store does not have adapted parking spaces; parking is possible in the courtyard in front of the entrance. The courtyard is covered with (mostly compacted) gravel.
The entrance doors are glass and not automatic. They are covered with an advertising sticker/mesh that prevents visibility from the outside to the inside, but allows visibility from inside out. If needed, a staff member opens the doors when noticing a customer at the entrance. The doors are not equipped with contrast strips.
The store is entirely on the ground floor, except for the sanitary facilities. In the same space are the reception desk, a cabinet with sales items, and a waiting area. There is enough maneuvering space for turning a wheelchair. Some shelves are positioned too low or too high, otherwise the labels on the shelves are large and well-contrasted. Lighting is adequate.
The arterial measurement clinic is located behind the door next to the reception desk and is not signposted, but the staff usually guides and accompanies the customer there. The size of the clinic allows enough maneuvering space. The examination table is at a suitable height for transfers and is movable.
There are no hearing loops in the building.
There are no adapted sanitary facilities. Access to the only sanitary facilities requires ascending two steps in the waiting area.
