Description of the facility

The gallery is well accessible. Parking is provided as part of the public city arrangement. At the main entrance, there is a ramp, and stairs also lead to the entrance, which continue into the tiered arrangement, posing a hazard for visually impaired persons due to unmarked edges.
The doors are revolving. For wheelchair users, standard doors with a doorbell are installed to the right of them.
From the multi-story central hall, where the reception desk is located, it is possible to enter most of the rooms. Inside the hall, to the right behind the desk is the cloakroom, and to the left of the desk a small café by the fountain. Access to upper floors is possible via stairs or elevator.
On the first floor of the hall, there is an open event area with movable seats.
Adapted sanitary facilities are located in the basement, although there is limited maneuvering space.
Exhibition spaces are located to the left and right of the hall on all floors. There is plenty of maneuvering space. Selected painting by Luiza Pesjak is adapted for tactile perception. Audio guides are available.
On the right side of the hall, entry leads to spaces of the old building, where in addition to exhibition spaces, there are two halls. One is centrally located on the first floor, the other on the ground floor to the left of the old entrance. In the halls, the seats are movable, and portable hearing loops are available for use.

All persons with disabilities, their companions, and guide dogs are guaranteed free entry.
The gallery also offers fully adapted tours and creative workshops for persons with disabilities free of charge – for both groups and individuals.

Mobility impaired:

  • an adapted parking space is located near the entrance,
  • the ramp in front of the entrance is properly constructed and allows independent use,
  • the reception desk is at a height suitable for wheelchair users,
  • there is enough maneuvering space inside,
  • seats in the halls are movable,
  • the building has an elevator of suitable dimensions,
  • adapted sanitary facilities are available in the building.

Blind and visually impaired:

  • the entrance to the building is clearly recognizable,
  • the reception desk is located near the entrance,
  • there are no sudden transitions from light to dark areas in the building,
  • selected exhibits allow tactile exploration of the exhibition material.

Deaf and hard-of-hearing:

  • the building is equipped with portable hearing loops,
  • the reception desk is properly lit and allows lip-reading and reading facial expressions.

Deficiencies:

Mobility impaired:

  • the entrance for wheelchair users is not clearly recognizable,
  • there is insufficient maneuvering space in the sanitary facilities.

Blind and visually impaired:

  • external stairs are not clearly detectable and may pose a hazard for visually impaired persons,
  • glass entrance doors and walls next to them are not contrast-marked,
  • the path to the reception desk is not tactilely marked,
  • elevator buttons are not in relief,
  • edges of stairs are not contrast-marked.

Deaf and hard-of-hearing:

  • no major deficiencies.
