UIRS accessibility assessment
Description of the facility
The library is easily accessible. The entrance to the library is from a covered atrium that can be reached from two entrances (Slovenska or Gosposvetska Street). There are stairs and a steep ramp leading to the entrance. The lighting at the entrance is inadequate.
The library is spread across several floors and has a lift. The library counter is not in the immediate vicinity of the entrance or is not visible to the user. It is located to the right of the entryway. There is sufficient room to manoeuvre between the bookshelves, study desks and in front of the counters on all floors. The building has accessible sanitary facilities.
The hall in the basement is not equipped with an induction loop. The library offers books with large print, e-books, audiobooks, as well as magnifiers etc. Most of the materials and services are also accessible online.
There is an employee with sign language skills in the library.
