UIRS accessibility assessment
Description of the facility
Bežigrad Library is well accessible. The bus stop is located nearby and is accessible via the sidewalk. Adapted parking spaces are close to the building entrance, but their dimensions are insufficient. Access to the library entrance is via stairs and a ramp.
In the entrance vestibule, there are Direct4.me lockers where patrons can pick up borrowed library materials. Some lockers are at an appropriate height, allowing access for wheelchair users.
The library desk is located away from the entrance and is not tactilely marked. A hearing loop is available at the desk.
There is sufficient space between the bookshelves for movement, but not always enough space for a 90° or 180° turn, so shelves along the walls are less accessible for wheelchair users.
The basement houses a hall, the first floor contains a multimedia section and a study room. Access to all levels is possible via stairs and an elevator, both located to the right of the building entrance.
Adapted sanitary facilities are located near the building entrance.
Books with large print are available for loan.
