Description of the facility

The Lidl premises on Slovenska Street are partially accessible. The bus stop is near both main entrances of the Šumi building and is accessible via the sidewalk.
The main entrance from Kongresni trg is accessible via stairs and is also the main entrance to the Lidl store. The elevator at this entrance only goes to the mezzanine and therefore does not provide access for mobility-impaired persons to the store. The side entrance from Slovenska Street under the arcades is harder to notice but is also adapted for mobility-impaired users. The path to the store from the side entrance leads through a corridor, with an elevator to the underground garage and from there into the store.
Adapted parking spaces are available in the building’s garage, with direct entry to the store.
The store is located only on the first basement level and has two sliding-door entrances. There is generally enough maneuvering space between the shelves, except in areas obstructed by the building structure or pallets with products.
Equipment does not allow easy and independent use for mobility-impaired persons or persons with visual impairments.
Signs in the store are partially appropriate.
Product prices are of suitable size, product descriptions are not. Fruit and vegetables are weighed at the checkout. Checkout counters are too high. Self-service checkouts do not allow independent use for mobility-impaired persons or persons with visual impairments; staff assistance is usually available. To exit at self-service checkouts, the receipt must be scanned.
There are no adapted sanitary facilities.

Adaptations

Mobility impaired:

  • There is an adapted parking space near the entrance,
  • one of the main entrances to the building is accessible,
  • the main entrance has automatic sliding doors,
  • the building has a sufficiently large elevator for wheelchair users,
  • shopping carts for mobility-impaired users are available.

Blind and visually impaired:

  • Elevator buttons are in relief.

Deaf and hard of hearing:

  • The store is adequately lit and allows for lip-reading and reading facial expressions.

Deficiencies

Mobility impaired:

  • The adapted parking space does not have suitable dimensions, although it is marked,
  • there is insufficient maneuvering space for wheelchair users in some areas of the store,
  • there are no adapted sanitary facilities,
  • the accessible entrance is not clearly marked.

Blind and visually impaired:

  • The entrance is not clearly recognizable,
  • the signboard at the main entrance is inadequate,
  • glass doors are not contrast-marked,
  • not all signs and labels inside the store are at appropriate heights,
  • not all signs and labels are contrastive and legible,
  • necessary information is not provided audibly,
  • stair edges are not contrast-marked.

Deaf and hard of hearing:

  • The store is not equipped with a hearing loop for hard-of-hearing users.
