Description of the facility

The Tourist Information Center Postojna is located within the premises of the Tourist Association of Postojna. At the information center, visitors can obtain information about Postojna and its surrounding area.

The building is accessible for people with mobility impairments. However, there are no suitable adaptations for the blind and visually impaired or for the deaf and hard of hearing.

Adaptations:
A parking space for people with disabilities is located closest to the building.
Printed materials are arranged on shelves that are more or less accessible, while digital content is accessible for independent use by wheelchair users.
Toilets for people with disabilities are located separately from the main part of the building. The entrance is clearly marked. The size and equipment of the toilet facilities are appropriate.

Deficiencies:
Independent access from the parking lot to the building is hindered by an unpaved surface and curbs that are too high.
The building’s façade is entirely made of glass, including the main entrance door. This makes it difficult to identify the entrance when the door is closed, while open doors pose a risk of collision.
The glass surface of the door lacks contrasting markings at eye level.
Signage at the main entrance is not sufficiently contrasting.
The information counter is too high and therefore inaccessible to wheelchair users.
The building is not equipped with an induction loop or other hearing enhancement system.
The inside of the toilet door lacks a horizontal handle, which would allow wheelchair users to close the door independently.
It is problematic that the toilet facilities are not accessible without first obtaining a key from the TIC premises.
