UIRS accessibility assessment
Description of the facility
The museum is partially adapted and represents one of several locations of the Krško City Museum.
This section of the museum is located in a historic manor with a central courtyard, where a glass annex with a staircase and an elevator was added during renovation to enable access between floors.
The main entrance and reception area are accessible via stairs, while an adapted side entrance for wheelchair users is located on the river side, though it is not marked. In the courtyard and inside the building, stairs lack contrasting markings, and contrast signage is insufficient, posing a potential hazard in certain areas.
The museum has been renovated, and most height differences are bridged with the elevator; however, not all areas are accessible for wheelchair users. Selected exhibits allow tactile exploration. There are adapted restroom facilities for wheelchair users.
Adjustments:
Mobility impaired:
- an adapted parking space is available in the old town center,
- access to the building is provided via a side entrance,
- the building includes an elevator of appropriate dimensions,
- height differences inside are partially bridged, as the building is a cultural heritage site,
- adapted restroom facilities are provided inside the building.
Blind and visually impaired:
- selected exhibits allow tactile exploration of the displayed material,
- elevator buttons are tactile.

- the reception desk is not located in the immediate vicinity of the entrance,
- the path to the distant reception desk is not marked,
- there are sudden transitions from bright to dark areas inside the building,
- stair edges are not marked with contrast,
- edges of height differences are not marked with contrast,
- the path is obstructed by unmarked height obstacles.
