Description of the facility

The Jesenice Municipal Library – Kranjska Gora branch is partially accessible. A bus stop is located near the building. Several adapted parking spaces are available near the library entrance. The library is located on the ground floor and shares an entrance with the municipal offices. The entrance is recessed and poorly marked. Access to the building is through barely noticeable glass sliding doors leading into a vestibule. The inner glass doors are sufficiently marked with contrast. Through the vestibule, one enters a hallway where the adapted restrooms are located. The restrooms are locked, and a key must be requested. The entrance to the library is located at the end of the hallway, recessed into a corner, making it difficult to notice. The entrance width is suitable for wheelchair users, but the maneuvering space in front of the entrance is obstructed by book crates. The counter is close to the library entrance and easily recognizable. Part of the counter is height-adjusted for wheelchair users. There is not enough space between the shelves for frontal access or turning with a wheelchair. The children’s section is not accessible for persons with mobility impairments due to narrow spaces between shelves and the presence of book crates. From the main library area, one can access the computer room through unmarked, heavy glass doors. Next to the library counter is the entrance to the reading room. The room has enough space for wheelchair maneuvering, and some shelves are at a height that makes them more easily reachable. The tables in the center of the room are difficult to detect and are not dimensionally adapted for persons with mobility impairments.
