Description of the facility

The facility is partially accessible.
The accessible path to the building leads along a slightly sloping road. There is no public transport stop nearby. Parking is available in front of the entrance.
The main entrance is through glass swing doors, which are reflective. The entrance is not easily recognizable. The reception desk is not in use, and the space is poorly lit.
Access from the entrance hall to the ground floor is only possible via stairs and a lifting platform. The lifting platform does not allow independent use and, due to low load capacity and safety, is not usable by all wheelchair users.
The elevator in the building connects all other floors, where the upper floors contain a care unit with rooms, a dining room, and basement spaces with a hall and physiotherapy rooms (and a pool).
The building can also be accessed via a connecting corridor and elevator from Hotel Vesna.
Accessible rooms with bathrooms in the care unit provide sufficient maneuvering space. Room equipment is height-adjusted. Bathrooms are partially suitable regarding maneuvering space and equipment.
There is enough maneuvering space in the dining room, but counters and self-service machines are not at an appropriate height. The dining room has an outdoor terrace. Wheelchair access to the terrace via a ramp is hazardous.
The sports hall, physiotherapy rooms, and basement sanitary facilities have sufficient maneuvering space.
Lighting in certain areas is poor, and sudden transitions from bright to dark spaces are frequent.
Care staff are present in the building at all times.
The facility is not equipped with a hearing loop.

Adjustments

Mobility impaired:

  • The designated parking area is sufficiently large but not marked,
  • The main entrance is accessible,
  • A lifting platform for wheelchair users is installed,
  • There is a sufficiently large elevator for wheelchair users,
  • Main corridors are wide enough,
  • There is enough maneuvering space in the dining room for wheelchair users,
  • Access to the restaurant terrace is arranged with a ramp,
  • There is sufficient maneuvering space on the terrace for wheelchair users,
  • Rooms and bathrooms are equipped with emergency alarms connected to staff,
  • Showers are equipped with wheelchair-accessible shower chairs,
  • Room lifts are available for transfers,
  • There is sufficient maneuvering space in the sports hall.

Blind and visually impaired:

  • Signs and labels in the basement and on the doors of accommodation rooms are contrasting and legible,
  • There are no obstacles or hazardous objects in the building.

Deaf and hard-of-hearing:

  • There are no special adaptations for deaf and hard-of-hearing persons.

Deficiencies

Mobility impaired:

  • The adapted parking space is not marked,
  • The lifting platform is too small in dimensions and load capacity,
  • Self-service devices in the dining room are not at the proper height,
  • The ramp in the dining room is not secured,
  • The ramp in the dining room does not have an appropriate slope,
  • Doors to the dining terrace open onto the ramp without a landing,
  • Doors to accommodation rooms are heavy and have hard handles,
  • Wall switches in accommodation rooms are placed too high,
  • Bathrooms do not have enough maneuvering space,
  • Not all equipment in bathrooms is reachable (sink, toilet paper dispenser, grab bars in shower and by toilet),
  • Grab bars by the toilet are installed too high and are improperly spaced,
  • The shower area in the bathroom is too small,
  • Access to the shower area is obstructed by the toilet,
  • The adapted sanitary space (basement) does not have emergency alarms installed,
  • The adapted sanitary space (basement) does not provide sufficient maneuvering space.

Blind and visually impaired:

  • The entrance is not clearly recognizable,
  • The building is not marked with an appropriate information board,
  • There is no reception desk,
  • Edges of stairs are not contrast-marked,
  • There are sudden transitions from bright to dark spaces,
  • The path to the elevator is not marked,
  • The walls inside the elevator cabin are reflective,
  • Accommodation room signs are not tactile,
  • Signs and labels in the building are not at appropriate heights.

Deaf and hard-of-hearing:

  • There is no hearing loop in the building.
