UIRS accessibility assessment
Description of the facility
The building is partially accessible.
The bus stop is approximately 300 meters from the building. The route from the stop to the retirement home is along a sidewalk, but due to a steep incline (up to 16%), it is difficult for people with mobility impairments to access.
A partially adapted parking space is located near the entrance, but it is not visible from the driveway, which is closed off with a barrier gate and a bell.
The building has multiple floors. The ground floor includes a café with a reception area, a dining room, administration offices, medical rooms, and a physiotherapy area. The upper floors contain resident rooms, while the basement houses a room for occupational therapy.
The main entrance is clearly recognizable and equipped with a properly designed ramp.
To the right of the entrance is a suitably sized elevator, and to the left is the main staircase.
The reception counter (which also serves as a café and front desk) is located further from the entrance, inside the café, to the left down the hallway. The route to it is not clearly marked. The counter is not height-adjusted for wheelchair users and is not equipped with a hearing loop. The café has access to a terrace and a walking path, but both offer limited maneuvering space. The terrace floor is uneven, and the furniture arrangement does not allow sufficient space, making the terrace inaccessible to wheelchair users.
Further down the corridor from the café is the dining room, which offers sufficient maneuvering space and height-adjusted furniture for wheelchair users.
Straight ahead from the entrance are the medical rooms and physiotherapy facilities.
The upper floors have rooms adapted for people with mobility impairments. The shared bathrooms are located along the hallways, separate from the rooms. The showers are too small, with insufficient maneuvering space for wheelchair users, and access to fixtures is difficult due to inappropriate height placement. Each floor also includes a communal lounge area. The shared balconies have limited maneuvering space, and the balcony doors have thresholds that are too high for wheelchair users.
In the basement, there is a multipurpose room used for occupational therapy.
