Description of the facility

The Champion BTC premises are partially accessible. The Champion store is located on the ground floor of the CityPark shopping and business complex.

Several city bus stops are located less than 300 meters from the entrance. Ten parking spaces for persons with mobility impairments are available on the ground floor level as well as on each level of the CityPark parking garage. The vertical parking signs are mounted too low and are poorly visible, and the parking spaces themselves are smaller than standard dimensions.
The building has multiple entrances; the nearest one to the Champion store features revolving doors on the ground floor. For easier access, the revolving doors rotate more slowly if the button on the top frame is pressed beforehand.

The Champion store is situated near the entrance on the ground floor. The entrance is somewhat difficult to recognize as it is surrounded by glass shop windows without contrasting markings. The checkout counter is not suitable for wheelchair users, although staff members assist customers when needed.
The store interior is bright but rather confined. Most display racks are on wheels and can be easily moved to create more space. The store has two fitting rooms, but neither is large enough to accommodate persons with mobility impairments.

Adapted restroom facilities are provided within the shopping center, located near the Champion store.

Adaptations

For persons with mobility impairments:

  • partially adapted parking spaces are available near the entrance,
  • the main entrance to the building is accessible,
  • the main entrance has automatic (revolving) doors,
  • the building and parking garage are equipped with elevators large enough for wheelchair users (if needed),
  • there is sufficient maneuvering space inside the store for wheelchair users if staff help move display racks on wheels,
  • partially adapted restroom facilities are available in the building.

For the blind and visually impaired:

  • the entrance to the building is recognizable,
  • the sales counter is located near the store entrance.

For the deaf and hard of hearing:

  • the checkout counter is well-lit, allowing for lip reading and reading facial expressions,
  • the checkout counter is positioned so that there are no windows behind it.

Deficiencies

For persons with mobility impairments:

  • the adapted parking spaces do not meet standard dimensions, although they are marked,
  • there is insufficient maneuvering space inside the store for wheelchair users,
  • display racks are not at suitable heights for wheelchair users,
  • there are no adapted fitting rooms or changing cabins in the building.

For the blind and visually impaired:

  • there is no information board at the main entrance,
  • the glass doors are not marked with contrast,
  • price tags in the store are not placed at appropriate heights,
  • price tags and labels in the store lack sufficient contrast and size.

For the deaf and hard of hearing:

  • the checkout counter is not equipped with a hearing loop for hard-of-hearing persons.
