Description of the facility
Bowling Bohinj is poorly accessible.
Bowling Bohinj is located in the basement level of the Bohinj Eco Hotel. There is no public transport station nearby. The number of adapted parking spaces is insufficient, and they are located at the back of the building. Since access to the nearest side entrance is not properly adapted, entry to the building is only possible through the more distant main entrance. The route to it leads along the roadway, without tactile guiding surfaces or markings. Parking in the basement garage is not adapted for persons with mobility impairments.
The main entrance is not easy to recognize, and the glass surfaces are not marked with contrast strips. Near the entrance, there are two adequately sized and well-lit elevators and an emergency staircase providing access to the basement.
The reception desk, located to the right of the entrance, is not height-adjusted for wheelchair users and is not equipped with a hearing loop.
In the basement of the building is the bowling hall. The sales counter and lockers are not height-adjusted for wheelchair users. Due to a height difference at the access point to the bowling lanes, bridged by an unsuitable ramp, the lanes are not accessible for wheelchair users. No special adaptations, aids, or equipment for persons with disabilities are available for bowling.
The building does not have suitably adapted restrooms for wheelchair users.
Adaptations
For persons with mobility impairments:
- the main entrance to the building is accessible,
- the main entrance has automatic (sliding) doors,
- the building has a sufficiently large elevator suitable for wheelchair users.
For the blind and visually impaired:
- the reception desk window is marked in contrast,
- the elevator buttons are tactile,
- the bowling lanes are clearly perceivable.
For the deaf and hard of hearing:
- the reception and sales counters are well-lit, allowing for lip reading and reading facial expressions,
- the reception and sales counters are positioned so that there are no windows behind them,
- necessary information in the bowling hall is provided visually.
Deficiencies
For persons with mobility impairments:
- there are no adapted parking spaces near the entrance,
- the existing adapted parking spaces are not properly arranged,
- the reception and sales counters are not height-adjusted for wheelchair users,
- height differences inside the building are not properly bridged,
- there is insufficient maneuvering space inside the building for wheelchair users,
- there are no aids or equipment available for bowling for persons with disabilities,
- there are no suitably adapted restrooms in the building.
For the blind and visually impaired:
- the entrance to the building is not clearly recognizable,
- the information board at the main entrance is inadequate,
- glass doors and walls are not marked with contrast,
- the reception desk is not located near the entrance,
- the path to the distant reception desk is not marked,
- there are sudden transitions from bright to dark spaces inside the building,
- signs and labels in the building are not placed at appropriate heights,
- signs and labels in the building are not contrasting or legible,
- the elevator is not equipped with voice announcements,
- the edges of stairs are not marked in contrast,
- the edges of height differences are not marked in contrast,
- there are no aids available in the bowling hall for persons with disabilities.
For the deaf and hard of hearing:
- the reception and sales counters are not equipped with hearing loops for hard-of-hearing persons,
- the bowling hall is not equipped with a hearing loop for hard-of-hearing persons.
