The European Disability Benefit Card is a card for the disabled.

The disability card helps the disabled,
to live better.

Persons with disabilities can get a disability card free of charge.
This means that disabled people do not have to pay money,
to get a disability card.

If you have a disability card,
you can get various benefits.
You can get a discount.
This means that persons with a Disability card for
some things pay less money.
If you have a disability card,

You can also get something for free.

You can get a discount for:

• Tickets,
  for example, a discount for a ticket to visit a cinema or a museum.
• Sports activities,
  for example, a discount for a pool or ice skating ticket.
• Books,
  for example, a discount for the purchase of books and notebooks.
• Food,
  for example, a discount for buying food in a shop or restaurant
• Services,
  for example, a discount for massage or exercise.

The disability card is blue.
The disability card has two sides.
In the picture you can see the front and
the last page of the abbreviation.
The front of the card has
your photo and personal information,
for example your first and last name.
The front of the card is in
English language.
It says
on the front of the card EU Disability Card.
In Slovenian, this means the Disability card of benefits.
The back of the card has your personal information,
for example your first and last name.
The back of the card is in Slovenian.
The card is in Slovenian and English, therefore,
that you can use it in Slovenia and
in other European countries.
The card can be in
instead of Slovenian Italian or Hungarian.

On the map, some countries are colored with
dark blue color.
These are countries,
in which you can use the Disability Card.
These are Slovenia, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, Croatia, Italy, Malta and Romania.

Disabled and children with special needs
they can get a disability card for free.
They can get a disability card at any administrative unit.
They cannot order a disability card
via the website of the administrative unit.

If you want to get a Disability Card, bring to the administrative unit:

• Completed form to obtain a Disability card.
  Attention! The form is not written in an easy to read manner.
  You can find the form by clicking here: Form
• Personal photo.
  Your face must be in the photo.
  We also need personal photos for
  identity card or passport.


• Decision.
  Also bring the decision with you.
  The decision is a document,
  which every disabled person can get.
  It must be written on the decision,
  that you are disabled or
  that you have a child with special needs.
  You prove with the decision,
  that you can get a Disability Card.
  

When the disability card is prepared at the administrative unit,
they send it to you by mail.

Why offer benefits to people with a Disability card?

There are many people in the world who are disabled.
Many people also have a family member who is disabled.
There are also many disabled people living in Slovenia.
There are more and more disabled people in the world.
There are more disabled people because there are more and more elderly people.
There are more and more disabled people because of this,
because there are more and more diseases,
which cannot be cured.

Disabled people can live less time than people,
who are not disabled.
Disabled people may have worse opportunities for
education and employment.
This means that they spend less time in school and
it’s harder for them to get a job.
Therefore, disabled people can have less money and
they may be less connected to other people.
The disability card helps disabled people live a better life.

A woman holds a disability card in her hand.
The woman is smiling.
The woman goes to the grocery store.

She will get a discount there.
This means she will pay less money.
She will get a discount because she has a disability card.
