A new unified <strong>European Parking Card for Persons with Disabilities<\/strong> will be introduced, valid in all Member States. This measure is introduced through a delegated act based on <strong>Directive (EU) 2024\/2841<\/strong>. Member States must adopt and publish the laws, regulations, and administrative provisions necessary to comply with the directive by <strong>5 June 2027<\/strong>. These provisions must fully enter into force by <strong>5 June 2028<\/strong>. At NSIOS, we want to raise awareness of this change in advance, as it will affect all users of disability parking cards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>One of the key innovations is the introduction of a <strong>QR code<\/strong> on the card, which will enable quick and reliable verification of its validity. The new digital component will allow direct verification not only by police officers but also by parking enforcement officers, which has not been possible until now. The card will be connected to administrative systems, meaning that monitoring will be significantly more effective than before. Counterfeit and misused cards are currently a major problem, often preventing people who genuinely need them from accessing designated parking spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>All eligible users will need to obtain the new card by <strong>2028<\/strong>, which will also require a renewed application process at the administrative office.
