This is a technical document that provides more detailed rules on the implementation of the directive, but it does not affect its content or the scope of the rights granted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>EDF welcomes the preparation of the act, as it is expected to provide greater clarity regarding the technical specifications of the cards and accelerate their implementation across EU Member States. The organization also supports the introduction of additional security features to prevent misuse and fraud. However, it emphasizes that security must not come at the expense of users\u2019 accessibility or privacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The use of <strong>RFID technology<\/strong> in the European Parking Card for Persons with Disabilities is a particular area of concern. According to EDF, the RFID chip\u2019s reading range should be limited to less than one metre, as a longer range could enable the mass collection of data about vehicles used by people with disabilities. EDF also opposes storing vehicle registration numbers on the chip, as users often travel in different vehicles. In addition, such data collection would create an additional privacy risk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>An important part of the feedback also concerns <strong>accessibility<\/strong>. EDF emphasizes that all applications used to verify the cards must comply with the requirements of European accessibility legislation.
